Service Description
This is a 6-hour Saturday class. Includes lunch from Sonny's BBQ Introduction to forging a knife. We will start with a 1"x1/4" flat bar and draw out material to make the handle. We will twist the handle to give it better grip and turn a "pig's tail" to act as a finger guard. Finally, we will forge and file the blade. Learn the basics of blacksmithing, good hammer control reduces the need for filing or grinding.

To cancel please give us at least 72 hours notice so we might be able to offer your class slot to another participant. SAFETY first! Wear natural fiber long trousers and solid shoes. No synthetic fabrics: blue jeans and leather boots work best. Long sleeve natural fiber (i.e. cotton) shirt is recommended. Eye protection - safety glasses - will be provided and must be worn at all times when working. Ear protection will be available.
